Winter Workshop hosted by Watershed Protection Committee of Racine County
WORKSHOP SPEAKER- Tom Cotter: At Cotter Farms in Mower County, MN, the combination of reduced tillage, cover crops, and livestock grazing have led to a dramatic improvement to soil health. Every acre of his cover crops are grazed by grass-fed beef cattle. Tom actively promotes soil health to other farmers at state and national events. At this workshop, Tom will focus on maximizing the benefits of soil health in your row crop or livestock operations, and how soil health benefits can impact production as well as the consumer.

Joel Salatin Homesteading Workshop hosted by Beyond Organic
If you are interested in homesteading here is another chance to hear from Joel Salatin! This workshop focuses on food preservation, gardening, beekeeping, and herbal medicines. Learn more about growing your OWN healthy, pesticide-free organic food and how to harvest and preserve it including canning basics, and tips on freezing, dehydrating, and fermenting. Drone-Interseeding Demonstration & Cover Crop Discussion
Aerial Drone-Interseeding Demonstration & Cover Crop Discussion
Join the Kenosha Regenerative Producers Group as they visit the Zirbel Farm for an aerial drone interseeding demonstration by Adam Reck. See how drones can be utilized in farming and gardening including broadcast seeding and performing precise liquid applications. An expert cover crop consultant will then share more about the use of cover crops in southeast Wisconsin and answer questions from attendees. This event is free and open to the public.

Hobby Farm Homesteading Tour
See regenerative agriculture on a small scale through a tour of the Thelen Family Farm, a small-scale farm raising organically-fed pigs and chickens on rotated, fresh pastures. Visit with local producers and learn how this family farm is beginning its regenerative journey. Learn about cost-share opportunities to implement regenerative agriculture on your land. 4-H welcome!

Rotational Grazing Workshop with Jim Gerrish
Spend a day learning from grazing expert and consultant to farmers and ranchers across the world, Jim Gerrish! This full-day workshop begins inside with a class at Seno Conservancy, includes a catered lunch, and ends with hands-on demonstrations on Starry Nights Farm, a rotationally grazed farm in Burlington.
Jim Gerrish has a BS in Agronomy and a Master's in Crop Ecology. He served 22 years of beef-forage system research and outreach at the University of Missouri, has written two books on grazing and ranch management, and speaks at roughly 25 workshops a year. His research and outreach efforts have been recognized with awards from numerous groups and agencies including the American Forage and Grassland Council, USDA-NRCS, and the American Agricultural Editors Association.
